  • Members of the El Dorado Running Club wanted to share their good fortunate with someone in need this Christmas.
They decided to adopt two teenagers from the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
“We wanted to give back to the community and we picked teenagers because we think sometimes they are overlooked,” said Brandi Lane, Club organizer.
In addition, they also were passing out “Share the Road” signs to members to post in their yards.
The signs were given to the club by Roger Joyce’s wife, Lucille, in memory of her late husband. Roger was tragically killed earlier this year when he was hit while riding his bicycle.
It is their hope they raise awareness of runners and cyclists to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.
The group had gathered Tuesday evening at the Train Depot for their Christmas party and to pass out the signs to members.
