Dorothy Lucille Willhite, 93, of El Dorado, died Monday, Dec. 10 at Vintage Place Assisted Living. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Visitation with family present will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow the services in Blankenship Cemetery, Rosalia.
Dorothy was born on Oct. 29, 1919 in El Dorado, the daughter of Joseph T. and Myrtle Hanson Locke. She graduated from high school and Butler County Community College. On June 7, 1942 Dorothy and Leonard R. Willhite were united in marriage and enjoyed 43 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1985. She was a manager with Tupperware with the name of her company Wheatheart Sales. She did this for 20 years. She made El Dorado her lifetime residence. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary; Circles of the First United Methodist Church; loved to do needlework and enjoyed raising flowers and plants.
Those who survive include: E. Wayne Willhite and wife Genie of Howard; Gary D. Willhite and wife Debbie of El Dorado; four grandchildren, Dustin Willhite and wife Elaine, Susannah Smith and husband Braden, Ryan Willhite and wife Cyndi, and Chase Willhite; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Fern Lucas of El Dorado and Violet Mattix, Great Bend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Duane Roland Willhite; grandson, Timothy; one brother; and two sisters.
