At about 12:44 a.m. today, Butler County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area of U.S. Highway 54 and SE Cattle Pen Road for the report of a missing person.
Lewis Wygle of El Dorado had reported Beth Ann Noffsinger, 30, of El Dorado, missing.
Upon arrival, Wygle, Noffsinger’s fiancé, was contacted at his vehicle parked south of US-54 on Cattle Pen Road, according to the report. Wygle reported he drove to the area with Noffsinger who, for reasons unknown became disoriented and got out of the vehicle and began running.
Assisted by Greenwood County, Butler County Sheriff's Office Deputies
conducted an initial search of the area and were unsuccessful in locating Noffsinger. A search and rescue operation was conducted with the Butler County Rescue Squad, Rosalia Fire Rescue, Augusta Department of Public Safety and KHP air support.
At approximately 6:43 am, Noffsinger was located in a field area and pronounced
deceased. Butler County Sheriff Investigations on scene determined there was no visible sign of trauma. The deceased was not properly attired for her the weather conditions. An autopsy has been requested to determine the cause of death. The investigation on going at this time.
