Anastasio Requena, 79, of El Dorado, died Friday at his home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Mr. Requena was born April 15, 1933 in El Dorado, the son of Pedro and Mary Sapien Requena. On March 1, 1958 he was married to Margareta Smith in Wichita. She passed away May 3, 2000. He had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed in the labor union as a construction worker. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. He loved all sports and watching old western movies on T.V.
Surviving family include sons, Joseph of Wichita, Vincent of El Dorado, Mario of Winfield, and Adrian of Lansing; daughters, Cynthia Tuder of El Dorado, Belinda Requena of Eureka, Melinda Rangel of El Dorado and Tina Geske of Abilene; a brother, Theodore of El Dorado; sisters, Phyllis Martinez of Augusta, Marie Jones of El Dorado and Stephina of California; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, three brothers and two sisters.
