Judge David Ricke set the trial date for Alyssa Haag for Feb. 12. Haag is charged with first degree murder in the death of her daughter, 18-month-old Jayla.
Haag appeared in court Monday morning for a control hearing to set the dates for upcoming hearings.
In addition to the trial date, the pretrial conference was set for Feb. 8 and a motions hearing will be held Jan. 4.
Haag's attorney did request a change in her bond condition which state Haag be on house arrest.
Her attorney said it was a financial strain on Haag's grandparents, who are paying the associated costs since Haag is unemployed currently. Her attorney also stated Haag had been following all of the conditions with that.
"If that's working, I'm not sure why we would want to mess with that," Ricke said.
He denied the request to modify the bond conditions.
There is the possibility something could happen in the case before February because the prosecution and defense are working on plea agreements.
Ricke told them he would consider a special setting to move things along faster if an agreement was reached.
