Augusta City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Monday evening
Before getting down to business Monday night, the Augusta City Council will recognize city employees for 10 and 25 years of service to the city.
The meeting’s agenda also includes:
Old business - Review and discuss the city’s watering restrictions and related issues.
Review and discussion on drafting a letter in response to correspondence from the Attorney General’s office regarding an alleged violation of the Kansas Open Meetings Act.
Heading the new business items will be the swearing in of Mike Martin as he fills the unexpired term of Ward 1 Councilor Holly Harper at Monday night’s City Council meeting.
Other new business includes - Review and consider approval of the annual requests from various non-profit organizations for a 2013 utility credit/abatement.
Consider approval of the recommendations for 2012 Special Alcohol Grants.
Consider approval of the 2013 Employee Health Insurance Program.
Consider approval of a proposal from PEC for construction engineering services for the Kelly and Ohio Intersection Project.
Consider approval of an update of the Airport Layout Plan for the Augusta Municipal Airport.
Consider approval of an ordinance authorizing the new One Cent Sales Tax to begin on April 1, 2013.
Consider approval of a letter agreement with Cami Baker & Associates for court appointed services for 2013.
Consider scheduling a public hearing for Dec. 17, 2012 to take input on amendments to the 2012 Budget.
The Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the council room upstairs at City Hall. The meeting is televised on Cable Channel 7.
