Donald Lee Parscal Jr., 61, of Leon, walked into the heart of God on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.
Celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the First Christian Church in El Dorado.
Don was born Oct. 19, 1951 in El Dorado, the son of Donald and Laurel (Gillis) Parscal. He graduated from El Dorado High School excelling in gymnastics. He served time in the United States Air Force. In 1969 he married Dena Osborne, which ended in divorce. He was united in marriage to Jeannie Austin on July 12, 1975 in Silver Dollar City, Mo. They lived in El Dorado from 1975-1981 before moving to rural Leon, where they have lived for 30 years. Don was employed by Frontier from 1979 till his retirement in 2012.
He loved his Lord and his family. He also loved his church family, his motorcycle family and his Walnut Valley Festival family very much. Each of his 3 children, 10 grandchildren and his great-grandson hold a special place in his heart.
Don was a charter member of the American Legion Riders, a member of the patriot guard. He was an avid woodcrafter all his life. He built his own home, and honed his scrollsawing skills to produce beautiful clocks and heirloom crafts for his family and friends. In 2005 Jeannie and Don purchased Circle Gallery and Frame Shop, where they worked side by side in the business and enjoyed Saturday nights at the Iron Horse Concert Hall.
Survivors include: his wife Jeannie; children, Don L. Parscal III and wife Shannon of El Dorado, Dustin L. and wife Tammy of Augusta, and Jenny Valentine of Leon; brothers, Barry of Okmulgee, Okla. and Charles of Coca, Fla.; sisters, Laurie Mellinger of Noble, Okla. and Stacey King of Shawnee, Okla.; grandchildren, Daniel, Kaleiger, Ashleiger, Dylan, Daton, Tanner, Eryx, Bradley, Jacob and Jenna; great- grandchild, Peyton.
