  • 'Nutcracker' features two local performers

  • A memorable holiday experience is just around the corner. Under the direction of Artistic Director, Jill Landrith, and Ballet Wichita Symphony Orchestra Director, Dr. Jay Decker, Ballet Wichita presents the 2012 performance of The Nutcracker.
    The ballet will feature guest artists from Ballet Idaho, as well as local talent, including Nadia Khalidi, 15 year-old daughter of Jamie and Marcia Khalidi. Nadia will be featured as a company soloist and will be performing in Snow Scene, Waltz of the Flowers, and Angel.
    This year marks Nadia's fifth season with Ballet Wichita.
    Another local student, Alicia Quiring, 11 year- old daughter of Charles and Kim Quiring, will be performing in her second season with Ballet Wichita.
    She will be featured in the Mother Ginger variation, playing the role of a Gingerbread Cookie.
    Performances are held at Century II Concert Hall, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16.
