The City of Augusta received its final valuation numbers for 2012. According to a memo to the city council prepared by Josh Shaw, Assistant to the City Manager, the valuation decreased about $126,000 from the numbers the city’s budget was based on. The variance came from additional exemptions that were not known in July.
Because of that variance, the mil levy for the City of Augusta will be assessed at 41.148. In July, the estimate was 41.053.
The increase is less than one tenth of a mil from estimates. The city’s total increase over 2011 was just over one mil.
