The smells of chili filled the downtown Saturday during the first Main Street Chili Cook-Off. Cooking got underway at 8 a.m. and by 11 people were beginning to taste the different chili recipes. Those who tasted the chili got three tokens to vote for their favorite chili. The winner was Sizzlin’ Sundgrens, who chose the Shane Baker Fund to donate their winnings to. The Sizzlin’ Sundgrens were followed by the First United Methodist Church, Miss Frontier’s Outstanding Teen 2013, Demo Sales and ICI Insurance. More than $790 was divided among 11 Butler County charities. There also was music on Main Street, as bands took turns playing during the activities.
