Anne Louise McPherson, 43, of Hutchinson, died on Nov. 17, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Hospital.
Anne was born July 16, 1969, in Warrensburg, Mo., the daughter of James and Marolin Kelly.
At age 4, Anne and her family moved to Leon, where she graduated from Bluestem High School. She next attended Butler Community College, then transferred to Kansas State University in Manhattan, graduating with a BS in Business Administration in 1991. After graduation Anne joined the accounting firm of Lindburg & Vogel in Hutchinson where she was a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
She met her future husband, Trey McPherson, during this period; both just happened to live in the same apartment complex. They were married on Aug. 17, 1996. Anne and Trey are the parents of two beautiful children, JD, 14, and Kate, 10.
Anne left her accounting career to pursue her true calling of being a full time mother, devoted wife, and spirited homemaker who enjoyed volunteer work at her children's schools and attending their many sporting events. She was an excellent cook and everyone looked forward each year to her “holiday plates.” She was actively involved in PEO Chapter EK, serving a term as President, and PTO in the children's schools. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Hutchinson.
Diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer on Dec. 31, 2009, Anne began a fierce battle to conquer the disease. She fought hard, showing everyone her character, strength, courage and positive determination throughout. Even on the hardest days she never lost her sense of humor nor her kindness for those around her. She has many close friends in the community and will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Anne is survived by her husband, Trey; their children, JD and Kate; her parents, Jim and Marolin Kelly; parents-in-law, John and Ann McPherson; her sister, Julie Patterson (Dennis); their children, Wade and Mallory; brother, Jimmy Kelly; brother, Barney (Kim) Kelly; their children, Wyatt, Kyan and Georgia; and sister-in-law, Melissa Gott (David) and children Ryan and Alex.
It was Anne's wish to be cremated. A memorial rosary will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, with both services being held at the Church of the Holy Cross, 26th and Plum Street. Services will be led by Father Joseph Eckberg. A private family graveside will be held following the mass.
Friends may sign her book, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anne McPherson Memorial Fund, benefiting Buhler USD No. 313, or the Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
