  • Generous hearts are hosting a free community Thanksgiving Dinner

  • Are you cooking for Thanksgiving? Why not whip up an extra pie or two for the Generous Hearts of Augusta Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day? Yes, more pies are needed for the dinner. Pies can be delivered between 1 and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, or dropped by the morning of Thanksgiving Day to Frye Auto.
    More help is needed for cooking turkey breasts, green beans and stuffing. The food supplies can be picked up after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Augusta Rental, cooked and delivered for dinner on the morning of Thanksgiving. If you would like to volunteer for baking or cooking call Kelly Modlin at 258-1598.
    Want to volunteer to assists with parking, serving food and beverages, cleaning tables? There are still slots available on the work schedule. To sign up, call Sue Hoefgen at 644-8537.
    If you or someone you know is homebound or can not get out for dinner, delivery is available. To sign up for a meal delivery, call Sue Hoefgen at 644-8537.
    "We sincerely appreciate the response we have had from our community. Thanksgiving will be a great day in Augusta," Hoegen advised.
    A group of Generous Hearts of Augusta has joined together to host a Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day. The invitation is open to anyone and the free meal will be served between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, at Frye Auto, 603 W. 7th in Augusta.
