Three event highlights
1 Following the El Dorado Main Street downtown parade, the Butler County History Center and Kansas Oil Museum will host an old-fashioned Christmas. The museum will be decorated for the holidays and the gift shop will be stocked full of special discounts.
2 Outdoors, the buildings will be open for the evening, with costumed interpreters. Taste hot apple cider in the Redburn Grocery, and stay warm by the wood burning fire while you browse. The Evening Caller Print Shop is open for business and the proprietor is offering free samples of holiday greetings to those who visit his store. Grandma Anderson is home and will be offering gingersnaps to her guests. Don’t miss the Lease House, where you can see sewing demonstrations and smell the baked goods coming from the kitchen. The Foster Schoolhouse teacher will have lessons for the children as well. While indoors, listen to carolers and enjoy food samples from the gift shop.
3 Kids are sure to enjoy the activities, and be sure to bring your camera for visits with Santa! Regular admission applies, members are free of charge. Avoid the line and purchase your tickets in advance.
