People respond to pleas for assistance

Evan Middleton with the Augusta Community Caring Center shared the following letter he received recently with a generous donation from an anonymous donor:

“Evan, enclosed is a check for the Caring Center. It’s in response to your letter last week in the Gazette. I hope and pray the town is responding to your plea for holiday help in these tough times for many families.

I do commend you, and those who assist you in your work, for without folks like you, so many young, middle-age and elderly would fall through the cracks of despair when times are tough.

I feel fortunate that I have enough to share with the community that helped raise me.

Grateful former resident”
