Taylor Childers and Isaac Gonzalez were named the Augusta High School Wendy's Heisman Trophy winners this week.
The Wendy's trophy celebrates the achievements of the nation's top high school seniors both in and out of the classroom. Childers and Gonzalez were chosen for their excellent merits
Childers has carried a 4.0 GPA throughout all of high school. She has played well for the girls tennis team the past two seasons and has earned All-League honors for girls basketball.
Where she shines the most is on the soccer field. Childers has earned All-State honors for her play as goalkeeper, where she has put together several brilliant performances and has routinely made remarkable saves.
Gonzalez also is a strong student in the classroom. Gonzalez plays for the Orioles' bowling team. One of the most prolific bowlers on the team, he has won an individual regional championship and led his team to the state meet.
