  • Aristocats, Jr. to be performed next Tuesday and Wednesday

  • Members of the Young People's In House Theatre have been working very hard for their production of Aristocats, Jr. Support their efforts by attending Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Augusta Historic Theatre, 523 State.
    The play is based on a story by Tom McGowan and Tom Rowe, and revolves around a family of aristocratic cats, and how an alley cat acquaintance helps them after a maid has kidnapped them to gain his mistress' fortune which was meant to go to them.
    There's lots of music, laughs and great costumes.
    The movie Twilight - Breaking Dawn Part 2 will show at the Augusta Theatre, at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, and at 12:15 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16. Admission is $6.
    Tickets are now on sale for The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey. It will open 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. Admission will be $6.

    Holiday news
    A unique fundraiser is underway for the Augusta Arts Council and Theatre. A collectible nest kart grocery cart will be decorated by area artists just for you. Bidding to start at $100 and continue through Dec. 1 at the Annual Christmas Gala.
    Check out the carts and place bids at the following locations: Emprise Bank, White Eagle Credit Union, Cooper Drug Store, Cinnamon Bakery & Caffe, and the Augusta Theatre.
    The 2012 Christmas Gala will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Augusta Historic Theatre, 523 State.
    There will be music entertainment, door prizes, a silent auction, a fabulous dessert and the 1947 Christmas classic movie, "The Bishop's Wife," starring Cary Grant and Loretta Young, will be presented.
    The sponsors of the event will be Headley Funeral Chapel and Augusta Family Chiropractic.
