  • Albert Monroe “Pete” Martin, 75, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, Nov. 6 at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Prospect Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Reece Cemetery.

  • Albert Monroe “Pete” Martin, 75, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, Nov. 6 at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Prospect Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Reece Cemetery.
    He was born on Jan. 24, 1937 in El Dorado, the son of John Monroe and Iva Leota (Snyder) Martin. Pete was a truck driver and was an owner and partner in M&M Trucking. He worked for Butler County from April 1988 to April 1999. He and Wanda Moore were united in marriage on June 9, 1962 at the First Christian Church. He collected Coins and Eagles, enjoyed doing woodworking and building things. His grandchildren were everything to him, loved to watch Western Movies and MASH. Pete was a great Grapa and enjoyed Nims Nims with his grandchildren.
    Those he leaves include his wife, Wanda of the home; children and their spouses, Brenda and Brenin Eustice, Shelly and Bud Thomas, Albert (Bud) M. Martin, Jr., and Joe Martin, all living in El Dorado; brothers, Vernon Martin and Johnny Martin of Elk Falls, Kan.; sisters and their husbands, Hazel and Charles McGoyne, Jr., and Anetta and Manford Moore, both of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his four-legged companion, Buddy.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and two great-grandchildren, Benson and Carter.
    Memorials in his honor of his grandchildren for the American Diabetes Association may be left with Carlson Funeral Home where friends may call. Condolences to the family can be sent to www.carlsoncolonial.com.
