Joy G. Moomey, 81, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, Nov. 6 in Wichita. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow the funeral in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Visitation with the family present is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, also at the Funeral Home.
Joy was born on Jan. 10, 1931 in Mankato, Kan., the daughter of Harvey and Sylva (Robinson) Ryan. She was a homemaker and on April 1, 1950 she and Marion J. Moomey were united in marriage in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1977. Joy attended the Salvation Army; enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and all animals.
Those who survive are her children, Virgil D. Moomey of El Dorado, Steven Moomey and wife Malinda, and Shirley J.Bierle and husband Wayne, all of Wichita, and Belinda M. Bidwell of El Dorado; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion; a son, Larry; three brothers; four sisters; and granddaughter, Rebecca.
