Madelyne Martin, of Augusta, was selected to be Homecoming Queen at Washburn University’s 2012 homecoming activities this past weekend. Maddy was among four other students nominated for the honor. She was nominated by Zeta Tau Alpha. Martin is vice president, director of sisterhood, new member assistant and activities chairwoman for Zeta Tau Alpha; vice president of Greek Council; and a resident assistant for residential living. She is a member of Mortar Board and Resident Assistant Council. Martin volunteers with Zeta Tau Alpha Breast Cancer Awareness and Education and Run for a Reason and has been involved with Washburn Transformational Experience, the Rescue Mission and the American Red Cross. She also is a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha and Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. She is majoring in elementary education and plans to teach in a Montessori preschool or a first-grade classroom.
She is the daughter of Michael and Kristen Martin.
