Wilma Stangle, 85, El Dorado, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Lakepoint, El Dorado. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church, with recitation of the Rosary preceding the Mass. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow the Mass at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1927 in Cushing, Okla., the daughter of William Grant and Lena Mae (Foust) Carter. She spent all her life in El Dorado; and on Oct. 4, 1941 Wilma and Glenn R. Stangle were united in marriage in Eureka. They were married for 63 years before Glenn preceded her in death on April 15, 2005. She was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated Stangle Brothers Radiator Shop. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church; El Dorado Moose Lodge; Seniors Citizens; American Legion Auxiliary for 14 years and loved to play Bingo, garden, camping and making popcorn balls.
Those who survive including her children and their spouses are: Dennis and Betty Stangle, Don and Erma Stangle, all of Wilson, Okla., and Terry and Brenda Stangle and Glenda and David Choens, all of El Dorado; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, and one grandchild.
