  • There will be no share of the Jayhawk League championship this year for the Grizzlies after travelling to Independence and ending the regular season with an 8-0 victory.
    The Grizzlies received a four goal effort from sophomore striker Alyssa Miller and a hat-trick from midfielder Morgan Foster to grab the blowout win.
    Abby Ponce added a goal late in the match and Alyssia Salinas had four assists.
    Lamya Scott, Tasja Toumasis and Foster each added an assist in the scoring fest.
    Goalkeeper Aisling Dyer was forced to make one save in the contest earning the clean sheet for Butler.
    The win moved the Grizzlies to 18-2 overall rounding out the regular season having won 15 consecutive matches.
    The conference title is the sixth for Butler since the program's inception in 2001 and their second straight.
    The Lady Grizzlies now move on to the Region VI tournament as the top seed.
    The tournament will begin this Monday at 1 p.m. at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex against an opponent to be named.
    In the most recent NJCAA Women’s soccer poll the Grizzlies moved from being ranked the sixth best team in the nation now to the fourth.
    Two of the schools in front of Butler in the polls, in Brevard and Iowa Western, account for the only Grizzlies defeats this season.
