  • EHS harrier Sam Haines named Wildcats athlete of the week

  • For the Week of Oct. 15, Sam Haines in Cross Country was named the EHS Athlete of the Week.
    Haines is the son of Vince and Melody Haines. He competes in cross country, basketball and track. Sam hopes to pursue a career in civil engineering.
    Sam placed 14th in the AVCTL Cross Country meet. This is the third year in a row he has made 2nd team all league. Sam and his track teammates placed 1st in state in the 4x800 relay in 2011.
    He enjoys hunting, fishing and working on antique cars. Sam’s current GPA is 3.83.
     
    Oct. 8 – Logan Morrow – Volleyball
    Logan Morrow, El Dorado High School Junior is the athlete of the week.
    Logan was selected to the All Tournament Team in our tournament this weekend. Logan would like to play volleyball in college and major in Elementary Education.
    She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Logan is the daughter of Brian and Jill Morrow. Logan’s GPE is 3.633.
     
    Oct. 1 – Freshman Volleyball Team
    The Freshman Volleyball team is currently 18-5. The girls are coached by Megan Eldridge.
    They won the Clearwater Tournament and are 7-2 in AVCTL Division 3 play.
    Members of the squad are Heather Strickler, Morgan Owens, Jenae Waite, Clarice Bolen, Destiny Smith, Kylie Gregg, Ashley Eustice, Kalyn Beel, Olivia Peiffer, Haleigh Johnson and Destiny Bowlin.
     
    Sept. 24 – Faith Hadley – Cross Country
    Faith Hadley is a junior cross country runner. She finished 10th at the McPherson meet.
    She has been our top female runner at each contest. Her parents are Matthew and Joanna Hadley.
    She hopes to graduate from EHS Summa Cum Laude in May of 2014 and attend then attend BCC. Faith is the Junior Class secretary, a member of StuCo, Scholar’s Bowl participant, Cross Country Co Captain and NHS.
    Her hobbies are reading, photography and taking walks. She is a member of the Temple Baptist Church where she sings in the choir.
    She is President of the Heartland 4-H Club. Faith is also vice-president of the Butler County Youth Council. Faith’s GPA is 3.90.
