Joshua L. Smith, of Haysville and formerly of Toronto, died on Oct. 10, 2012 in Toronto at the age of 25.
Joshua was born in Wichita, the son of Clyde J. and Kimberly (Engstrand) Smith Jr. He was raised in Toronto and attended school in Yates Center. Later he became a welder working with Local 798 in Tulsa. He worked part-time with his grandfather at H and S Propane.
On April 13, 2009 he was united in marriage to Shanette Schlotterbeck in Toronto, Kan.
He was a member of the Good News Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shanette of the home; daughters, Madison and Megan Smith; parents, Clyde and Kim Smith of Toronto and Sheila Schlotterbeck of Wichita; brother, Casey Smith and Kathy of Yates Center; and sisters, Nicole Barney and Tim of Minneapolis, Kan., and Krystal Smith of Toronto.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Toronto Cemetery, Toronto, with Pastor Dave Hatch officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to the Madison and Megan Scholarship Fund.
