The Greenwood Hotel in Eureka will be hosting two programs in the October.
The Tools of the Trade will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. The program is free to the public and they are encouraged to bring in their obsolete tools and share how the tool was used, show a picture of it in use or tell a brief story about the tool.
Then at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 the Greenwood Historical Society and the Greenwood Preservation Society will present the Horses and Hard Work Program.
A panel of four horsemen and women, Hurley Breech, Harold Garner, Ladd Lewis and Lois French, will discuss how horses shaped the cattle, oil and transportation industries. Matt Perrier will serve as facilitator of the evening. French will just have returned from being honored as a 50-year Quarter Horse Breeder.
Both programs are possible by The Way We Worked Grant through the Kansas Humanities Council which was awarded to the Greenwood Preservation Society after their extensive remodel of the historic Greenwood Hotel.
