A while back Ray Dimick was helping a friend clear out an area for a circle driveway. That work unearthed a large rock from a rock bank.
The rock tumbled two to three feet away, said Lois Dimick, and their friend commented “Hello, Santa Claus.”
The rock resembled Santa Claus’s face and prompted them to relocate the rock outside the Towanda Public Library so others could enjoy it.
“People don’t really know that it is just a rock and that is the way it looked when it tumbled out of the rock bank,” Lois said. “When you know that it’s a rock, it’s something to talk about.”
The rock is about 3 feet tall and 2 1/2 feet wide and is located a little west of the library.
