This is a great time to get a flu shot before the upcoming holiday season. Everyone 6 months and older should get an annual flu vaccine. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for your body to develop an immune response, which will last for a year.
A person should get vaccinated every year because flu viruses are constantly changing, so flu vaccines may be updated from one season to the next to protect against the most recent and most commonly circulating viruses and a person’s immune protection from vaccination declines over time. Yearly vaccination is recommended even for those who received the vaccine during the previous flu season. The cost for flu vaccination is currently $27.
The El Dorado Clinic will also be offering flu shots during its clinical hours: every Monday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m. and the last Friday of the month from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Located at 206 N. Griffith, El Dorado (Behind the movie theater).
