  • Augusta's boys soccer team needed a game like this. The Orioles scored the first goal of their home game against Circle within the first six minutes when Brandon Denoncourt got through a couple of defenders and made the shot. Denoncourt scored another first-half goal to spark the Orioles to a 5-0 win. Augusta wore pink shirts as part of Cancer Awareness Night. Kyler Steinkamp received a lob pass in the middle of the field and split two Circle defenders for the Orioles' second goal. David Ledgerwood later hit a cross pass into the net for a 4-0 halftime lead. Nick Young added the final goal of the game late in the second half. Circle got a couple good shots on goal in the second half, but Augusta goalie Brenan Wiswell, who came in for Jacob Lowery, made two nice saves. Augusta will play at Mulvane Thursday. The Orioles shut out the Wildcats at home in the teams' first meeting this season.
