  • The El Dorado Cats Cross Country runners travelled to Winfield Middle School to compete in their meet on Saturday.
The conditions were great for running – the temperature was in the mid-70s with a little wind for the Cats runners.
“This was a great race for us because it showed we are peaking at the right time of the season. If we can continue to improve we should be ready for our league meet next Monday, Oct. 8,” said Cats head Coach Les Limon.
Leading the way for the Cats were the lady runners.
Jolie Howland (8th grade) and Grace Myers (7th grade) each won their individual races for El Dorado.
For the boys 8th graders Timothy Kemboi placed 2nd overall and teammate Tyler Michaelis took 5th place.
Also placing for the Cats in with top 10 finishes were 7th grader Jaden McAdoo coming in 7th place and 8th grader Lexi Bias also in 7th place. They were both medal winners.
Tyler Luehrs, Mason Paye and Madison Fletcher each set PRs in their races for the Cats.
“The kids are doing great in practice and enjoying themselves in meets, which is a good sign late in the season,” said Limon.
The Cats will run again at Wartick Farms today at 4 p.m.
