Foulke to lead discussion on John Brown
Steven Foulke of Ottawa University will lead a discussion of John Brown : The Legend Revisited by Merrill D. Peterson at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Augusta Public Library.
This is the second book in a three part "Before the Civil War" series. The book explores the career and reputation of John Brown, a fervent abolitionist, who played an important role in the history of Kansas prior to the Civil War.

Steven Foulke is an associate professor of history at Ottawa University. He received his Ph.D. in geography from the University of Kansas and his Master's degree in American Studies from the University of Wyoming. Foulke has been leading Kansas Humanities Council TALK discussions since 1999.
