The Lady Mustangs had another good week going 5-2.
Last Tuesday Flinthills travelled to Sedan to play Caldwell and host Sedan.
The Laday Mustangs lost the first set to Caldwell 25-13 and then stormed back to win the match 25-18 and 25-18.
Jamie Bell had a solid match with 10 digs, a serve receive of 24, adding 14 kills with only two misses, and going 6 for 6 on serving.
Taylor Thompson had a career high with 5 blocks and Londyn Doll added 5 aces.
The Mustangs defeated Sedan in straight sets going 25-23 and 26-24.
Katie Starks was perfect serving going 10 for 10 with two aces.
Saturday the Mustangs participated in the Central Burden tournament placing third.
In pool play the Mustangs lost to Caldwell 19-25, 25-21 and 18-25, then defeated Udall 11-25, 25-21 and 25-19 and added another victory with a win over host Central Burden 25-12 and 25-21.
In the semifinal Flinthills was beaten by Argonia 12-25 and 25-5 and in the consolation game the Mustangs defeated Sedan 25-22, 20-25 and 25-13.
“I thought there were two highlights of the tournament. Defeating Udall after losing to Caldwell and being down one set was really big. In the consolation game we were without leading hitter Jamie Bell, Amanda Bell came in and played the front row registering 4 kills,” said Flinthills head coach Kent Harms.
Taylor Thompson served well going 20 of 21 with 3 aces and had a career high in blocks with 7. Bayley Reiswig had 5 kills and Londyn Doll added 9 kills and Katie Starks was solid passing.
Starks was a perfect 35 of 35 with 4 aces in the tournament. Doll led in aces with 10 and Kemp only missed 3 serves out of 65.
Jamie Bell led in kills with 29 and serve receive and digs.
Allie Vaugh led in assists with 52.
Mustangs take second at Cedarvale/Dexter
The Lady Mustangs went 5-3 for the week bringing their overall record to 10-7. All three losses were against Cedarvale/Dexter.
Tuesday the Lady Mustangs travelled to Cedarvale for two matches. Flinthills lost to host Cedarvale/Dexter 25-20 and 25-5.
In their second match Flinthills defeated Tyro Christian 25-9 and 25-20.
Jamie Bell led the way with 13 kills, followed by Londyn Doll with 7.
Bell and Doll also led Flinthills in serve receive.
“Tara Kemp was our hot server, serving up 28 of 29 points with 7 aces,” said Harms.
Thursday the Mustangs travelled to Bluestem defeating the Lions 27-25, 25-17 and 25-21.
Tara Kemp had another great night serving 10 for 10 and leading the Mustangs in kills with 8.

On Saturday the Mustangs made their second trip to Cedarvale/Dexter to participate in the Dexter tournament.
In pool play the Mustangs defeated Wichita Homeschool 25-18 and 25-18, then lost to Cedarvale/Dexter 20-15 and 20-17.
Flinthills bounced back against Tyro Christian winning 25-22 and 25-12.
In the semifinals the Mustangs defeated Argonia in a three set comeback win falling 25-10 to open the match, then winning 25-19 and 25-21.
Flinthills took on Cedarvale/Dexter in the finals and were beaten again falling 25-17 and 25-16.
“I was very pleased with our second place finish for a number of reasons, we avenged two earlier losses to Argonia and Wichita Homeschool, we continue improving against a tough Cedarvale/Dexter team,” said Harms.
Katie Starks led the Mustangs in serving for the tournament going 33 of 33 with 4 aces. Starks also led the team in serve receive.
Londyn Doll had the most aces with 8. Allie Vaught led Flinthills in assists with 35 with most of them going to Jamie Bell who had 36 kills.
