Augusta's boys soccer team lost to Buhler 5-0 Tuesday night at Hillier Stadium.
The Crusaders jumped ahead 1-0 within the opening five minutes of the game. Jacob Lowery made one nice save, but the Crusaders kept the pressure going and eventually got a clear look for a shot on goal and a score.
Buhler added another goal before halftime to lead 2-0. The Crusaders outplayed the Orioles a lot of the second half for three more goals.
Coach Monty Rowland said the Orioles' defense struggled to slow down Buhler's attackers. Instead of going after the Crusaders, they played more reactionary and didn't challenge or attack the ball and gave Buhler too much space for shots.
The Orioles will try to bounce back Thursday when they host Berean Academy as part of Augusta's Homecoming festivities. Game time is p.m. at Hillier Stadium. The community pep rally will begin at 7 p.m. after the game. The Powderpuff game will begin at 7:30.
