The Council's work session will begin at 7 p.m. Monday.
Nuisance properties have been a big topic for the Augusta City Council in recent months.
As owners came before the governing body to determine the best course of action for problem properties, several on the council discovered holes in the ordinances. Some of the provisions in the current ordinances allow properties to remain in bad shape while property owners flaunt the law by meeting minimum standards.
The council will meet in a work session Monday night at 7 p.m. at City Hall to take a closer look at the nuisance property regulations and code enforcement and determine what, if any, changes are needed to protect property owners and renters in Augusta.
