Circle hosted a triangular Tuesday night.
In AVCTL, Division 4 action, the Thunderbirds defeated Wellington in two games 25-18 and 25-22 and Wichita Collegiate also needing only two games as well 25-20 and 25-17.
The victories upped the Lady Thunderbird league record to 3-2 and their overall record to 12-7.
“Our victory over Collegiate was huge. We lost to them a week ago and didn’t feel like we played our best. We had a week to prepare for them and make adjustments and I was proud of the way our team responded,” said Circle head coach Shelly Nibarger.
Against Collegiate, Leslie Geist had 3 ace serves and 9 kills in 17 attacks.
Summer Welch 3 blocks and 5 kills in 6 attacks and Taylor Adlesperger had 14 digs.
“In our loss last week, our serve receive broke down. Tonight our primary passers, Taylor Adlesperger, Alexis Wiebe and Alyssa Kirkham did a nice job of communicating with each other and passing the ball successfully up to our setter. This was a big key to our victory,” said Nibarger.
Against Wellington Jamie Wright played her best match of the season for the Thunderbirds with 7 kills in 9 attacks.
