  • El Dorado High School students selected their candidates for homecoming king and queen last week in preparation for homecoming week this week.
    The queen candidates include Katherine Randall, McLaren Jeanne Stewart, Morgan Taylor Limon, Kristen Marie Walker and Kelsee Francesca Howell.
    The king candidates include Trevor Boyd Crain, Austin Lee Hughey, Emanuel Lopez Martinez, Collin Gabriel Just and Cole Austin Reinhardt.
    Katherine Randall is the daughter of Troy and Kristy Randall. Randall has been part of Student Council for four years, tennis for four years, boys swim manager for four years, girls swim manager for three years and orchestra for four years. She also participated in Youth Leadership Butler as a junior.
    She lettered in tennis all four years. Her community service includes Special Olympics/Arc of Butler, AWANA'S teacher, nursery volunteer, Partners in Education Foundation and Vacation Bible School.
    After high school she wants to become the best teacher and humanitarian she can be. She plans to attend Butler Community College her first year and transfer to Pittsburg State for elementary and special education.
    Trevor Crain is the son of Rolanda Davis and Andrew Crain. Crain has played football, baseball and basketball each year during high school, lettering three years in football and two years in both basketball and baseball. His community service includes being involved with H20 New Life Church, the Relay for Life/American Cancer Society and Junior Ambassadors.
    After high school, he wants to play football in college while he gets my degree.
    McLaren Stewart is the daughter of David and Darla Stewart. Her school activities include volleyball for four years, softball for four years, band for four years, Encore for three years and NHS during senior year. McLaren has lettered in volleyball for four years, softball for three years and received All-League honorable mention utility player in softball as a junior. She also had a state vocal solo in 10th grade.
    Her community service includes Junior Ambassadors all four years, El Dorado First Baptist Church
    After high school, she wants to go to college and become a teacher. She plans to attend Kansas State University.
    Austin Hughey is the son of Monty and Carri Hughey. His school activities include football and wrestling. He has lettered in football once and wrestling three times.
    After graduation he plans on wrestling in college.
    Morgan Limon is the daughter of Les and Roxanne Limon. Her school activities include tennis, basketball, softball and color guard all four years, Kay three years. Morgan has lettered one year in basketball and softball, three years in tennis and four years in band. She has been color guard captain for one year and has been recognized as Student of the Month and Athlete of the Week. Her community service includes teaching religious education and helping with Bible School in the summer
    Page 2 of 2 - She plans to attend Butler Community College for a year or two, then transfer to Oklahoma State University to major in veterinarian science. She then wants to come back to Kansas and work on animals.
    Emanuel Martinez is the son of Joaquina Martinez. His school activities include football all four years, wrestling all four years, track two years, band all four years. Martinez lettered in football three years, band four years and wrestling four years. His community service includes helping Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll drive, donating blood to the American Red Cross, helping at the Lord's Diner
    After high school, he plans to volunteer for the Peace Corps.
    Kristen Walker is the daughter of Beth and Trent Gunter. Her school activities include volleyball all four years, basketball three years, softball and swimming/diving two years and yearbook one year. She got third place in an art show and has lettered in volleyball and softball her freshman year.
    After high school, she wants to go to school to become an EMT just like her mom.
    Collin Just is the son of Randy and Tamra Just. His school activities include band, drumline, basketball and Junior Ambassadors all four years; NHS three years; and Student Council two years. Just has been named to the honor roll all four years, has served as student body president one year and drumline captain for one year. He has lettered in basketball one year and band three years. His community service includes Judgement House, VBS and Hallelujah Carnival at First Baptist Church for two years; active in First Baptist Church and youth group all four years; member of worship band at church and youth group all four years.
    After high school, he plans to attend Kansas State University to major in architecture or mechanical engineering. He wants to become an athletic shoe designer for Nike.
    Kelsee Howell is the daughter of Rebecca McRee and Frank Howell. Her school activities include volleyball, track, dance and orchestra all four years and cheer one year. She lettered in volleyball, track, dance, cheer and orchestra.
    After high school she plans to attend college in Georgia and major in criminal justice. She hopes to become a successful and well-grounded person.
    Cole Reinhardt is the son of Dawnita Reinhardt and Kim Lawrence. His school activities include football two years, wrestling three years and tennis one year. He lettered in football, wrestling and tennis and received all league honorable mention in wrestling.
    After high school, he plans to attend Butler Community College, then transfer to Emporia State University to major in physical education. He wants to play football in college, get a college degree and then start a family.
    Throughout this week students will take part in a variety of themed days. They also decorated posters and painted windows for homecoming last weekend.
