  • The Circle Volleyball Team went 2-0 in their own triangular on Tuesday defeating Winfield and El Dorado.
In non-division play, the T-Birds needed only two games to defeat Winfield 25-9, 25-10. Circle went on to earn victory over El Dorado 22-25, 25-20, 25-16 to move to  3-1 on the season.
“The El Dorado match was competitive one.  It took us a set to start attacking the way we’re capable of,” said Circle head coach Shelly Nibarger.
El Dorado opened up solidly earning a 3-0 lead in the opening game.
The Wildcats  maintained their lead throughout the first game and earned a 25-22 victory.
Both teams battled back and forth  throughout the  second game and Circle built an early lead and never relinquished it to beat El Dorado 25-20 sending the match to a third game.
“I thought our outside hitters Erin Schiesser and Leslie Geist started seeing the floor better in sets 2 and 3 and began to take advantage of the weaknesses in El Dorado’s defense,” said Nibarger.
In the third and deciding game, Circle sprinted to a 6-2 lead over  El Dorado to begin the contest and the T-Birds never looked back. Circle maintained a 5-6 point lead throughout the game and won  25-16.
“Our setter Katie Frankenbery mixed up her sets well and did a nice job running our offense. Middle blocker Jamie Wright also had a nice match with 5 kills and 6 very timely blocks,” said Nibarger.
The Lady T-Birds travel this weekend to participate in the  Ark City Tourney on Saturday.
