The 14th Annual El Dorado Open Car and Bike Show is set for Sept. 15 in downtown El Dorado.
The car show, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, continues to grow each year.
This year's events will include live music, a beer garden by Willie's, a car bash, motor blow, Candy the Clown, Freddy's hot dog eating contest, a dunk tank and more.
The show will begin at noon, with awards announced at 6:30 p.m. Registration is from noon to 3 p.m. and judging is from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Door prizes also will be handed out throughout the day.
One new aspect of the car show this year is the creation of a sponsored charity. This was something that has been done at other car shows and they decided to implement in El Dorado. The sponsored charity for the show will be the Family Life Center.
Of course there also will be a variety of cars and bikes lining the streets. Classes include truck, motorcycle sport, motorcycle cruiser, categories by date, LX/LY platform, import, modified categories, 4x4, street rod, rat rod, sport compact, unfinished and more. There also will be judging on best paint, best interior, best engine, best of show 1979 and older, best of show 1980 and newer, club award and furthest distance driven.
The presenting sponsors are BG Products and Scholfield Auto Plaza and corporate sponsors are HollyFrontier El Dorado Refining, Specs, Walmart and Safelight. There also are many community sponsors and and trophy sponsors who are supporting this event that are too numerous to mention.
Registration is $20 for the show. For more information, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 321-3150 or visit their page on 360ElDorado.com.
