  • The Lady Wildcat tennis team traveled to Independence on Thursday for their opening competition of the season.
“It was a very tough way to star the season and I wasn't disappointed with the efforts of the girls but was hoping for some more victories,” said head coach Kent Kunkel.
El Dorado came away with two victories, Maddy Armstrong won her match against Kendra Thompson of Spring Hill 8-4 and the doubles tandem of Katy Randall and Kayla Barrett defeated Spring Hill’s team of Buyanovsky / Hamilton 8-2.
“Armstrong and our 2 doubles team of Randall/Barrett had their first victories which is a nice way to start the year. We found many areas where we can improve though and have a few days before our next competition as I'm still looking for our best combinations,” said Kunkel.
