Naoma J. Finlay, 99, homemaker of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012.
Viewing Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta; service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church, Augusta. Graveside service 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. at Carbondale Cemetery, Carbondale, Kan.
Naoma was born in Ionia, Kan. on Sept. 26, 1912, to the late Ina (Van Meter) and Everett Alcorn. She was a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church, a 63 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Outlook Club for over 50 years.
On Sept. 8, 1934 she married Gilbert H. "Pat" Finlay in Topeka.
She is survived by: sons, Robert Finlay and wife Mary of Emporia, Gary Finlay and wife Judy of Austin, Texas, and Don Finlay and wife Loweta of Augusta; grandchildren and spouses, April Finlay (Aaron Davis), Amber Crowl (Cliff), Steve Finlay, Brian Finlay (Becky), Tammy Cox (Brad), Teresa McDonald (Terry), and Eric Finlay (Meghann); 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; brothers, Clifford, Paul, Edgar and infant brother, Everett Merle Alcorn; great-grandson, Kendall Dale Cox.
