The Remington Broncos come into the 2012 season led by head coach Chris Lawler who is entering his 9th season with the Broncos.
Lawler boasts an overall record of 48-29 in his eight previous campaigns.
The Broncos went 3-6 in 2011 with a league record of 3-3 and a district record of 0-3.
Remington will be a young team this season. The team depth will be an area of concern for the Broncos.
Remington returns eight starters on the Bronco offense as well as seven hold overs from last season’s defense.
Key returners to Broncos are seniors Kyle Regier, Kale Zonnefeld, Jake Abrahams and Robert Debaun.
The Remington junior class brings back Will Johnson, Hunter Hill, Eli Igo and Britton Grinstead.
The lone sophomore returnee to varsity is Casey Westerfield.
Coach Lawler expects Quintin McGehee, Wyatt Lear and Mason Trible to contribute to the Broncos this season along with the returning players.
“Several young players from last season got the opportunity to play in varstiy games due to an abnormal amount of injuries sustained last season,” said Lawler.
Even though the Broncos were young last year, they were able to earn some valuable varsity experience.
“We have a very talented group of of freshmen coming in this year that will help develop our team into a competitive team,” said Lawler. “We will look to improve each week and get better as the season progresses.”
