Judy Darlene Gray Cope, 66, of Rosalia, died Aug. 23, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow in Blankenship Cemetery, Rosalia. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, also at the Funeral Home.
Judy was born on Oct. 21, 1945 in El Dorado, the daughter of Lloyd and Helen (Dill) Gray. She graduated from Rosalia High School in 1963. She was married to Joe Cope on July 26, 1964 at the Leon United Methodist Church. She was a member of Rosalia United Methodist Church and Rural Water District #3, where she was secretary for 28 years until she retired. Judy was a member of Rosalia United Methodist Church Quilting Group and the Public Wholesale Water District #8, where she was the current secretary.
Those she leaves are her husband, Joe of the home; her children and their spouses, Clinton A. and Sarah Cope of Florence, Jeffrey A. and Karen Cope of Emporia, and Tammy J. and Aaron Brown of El Dorado; grandchildren, Danielle Cope of Sioux City, Iowa, Adam Cope of Manhattan, Jacob Cope of Florence, Lydia Cope and Sadie Cope, both of El Dorado, Chloe Cope of Emporia, and Gina, Cari and Amanda Brown, all of El Dorado; great-grandchildren, Lukas Cope, Quinton Bueno and Bentley Bueno, all El Dorado; and her brother and his wife, Lyle and Shirley Gray of Leon.
he was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Richard Gray; and infant sister, Deloris Gray.
