  • William Edmond “Bill” Maher, 68, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 18.

  • William Edmond “Bill” Maher, 68, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 18. Services will be at 1:30 Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow in Cumberland Cemetery.
    He was born on Feb. 5, 1944 in El Dorado. He graduated from Douglass High School and attended Lamar College for a few years.
    Bill was a horse trainer, rancher and farmer. During his younger years he participated in Rodeo. He loved to train horses and was a champion horse breeder and trainer, showing the 1st place Supreme Champion paint horse names Snip Bar.
    He is survived by his companion Betty Reed of El Dorado and many friends.
    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward the services and left at Carlson Funeral Home which is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to www.carlsoncolonial.com.
