Gerald M. “Jerry” Montgomery, 65, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 18. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home. Cremation will precede the services.
He was born on June 24, 1947 in El Dorado, the son of Bergess and Dessie (Byers) Montgomery. He received his GED and had taken classes at BCC. Jerry was street superintendent for the City until 1991. He had a number of hobbies including gunsmithing, fishing, hunting; NASCAR, enjoyed cars and had a collection of Zippo lighters.
On June 6, 1977 he was married to Linda Korinek at Miami, Okla.
Survivors including his wife, Linda, are: a son, Junior Montgomery and wife Debra; a daughter, Shannon Goodon, all El Dorado; a son, Brandon Wilson of North Port, Mich.; sisters, Pat Adlesperger of El Dorado, Carol Montgomery of McPherson and Mary Poffinbarger and husband Dennis of El Dorado; grandchildren, Dustin, Ashley and Annie Montgomery, Corey Montgomery, Chantelle Altis, Colton Goodon and Mikela Wilson; and his dog, Zippo.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Mike; a brother, Jim; sister, Annette Nelson; his parents; and great-grandparents.
