  • The Remington Broncos Cross Country runners will be led by head coach Tim Hesseltine who comes in for his 14th season at the helm for the Broncos. Assistant coach Tony Zappone will be on board for his 9th season with the Broncos.
In 2011, the Bronco boys finished 5th in Heart of America League and were able to claim 11th at Regionals.
The Lady Broncos were 3rd in Heart of America League competition and took 5th best at Regionals.
As for Broncos’ team history, the boy’s teams have managed three trips to the State meet and have claimed one league title.
The Lady Broncos have gone to State a total of seven times and have been Heart of America League winners four times.
This year’s girls team brings back four letter winners in Caitlin McKaughan (12), Katrina Regehr (12), Stacia Thunberg (12) and Meghan Nipper (10).
Stacia Thunberg is the lone returning league medalist for the Lady Broncos in 2012.
The Remington girl’s will be led by senior Stacia Thunberg.
“Stacia is a bright, hard working athlete who does a great job of leading our younger girls,” said head coach Tim Hesseltine. “Our team is still pretty inexperienced, but they race hard and have a lot of determination.”
The Lady Broncos should compete well this year. They will have to rely heavily on running in a pack to keep their points down at each meet.
“I am excited to see this team in action.  I have no doubt that they will represent us well this season,” said Hesseltine.
The Lady Broncos full roster includes: Caitlin McKaughan (12), Katrina Regehr (12), Stacia Thunberg (12), Myrella Lopez (11) and Meghan Nipper (10).
The Remington boy’s team will be led by senior Riley King.
“Riley has a solid work ethic and will do a nice job of supporting his team this season,” said Hesseltine.
The Bronco boys team is looking to find itself this season.  A new season has brought on new attitudes, new work ethics and new goals.
“I am anxious to see these guys race.  They are all hard workers and will improve a lot throughout the season,” said Hesseltine.
The Broncos boy’s full roster includes: Riley King (12), Felix Jansson (11), Brad Johnson (11), Bailey Lunsford (11), John Brunner (10) and Dakotah Gillmore (10).
