Zachary Burhenn and Cody Taylor, both from of El Dorado, hooked into a monster flathead last Sunday morning as they were checking their lines from their kayaks in a private Butler County watershed.
After several intense minutes of trying to keep the fish from completely pulling away, they finally landed the large flathead with a combined effort. This fish was the largest of several they have caught this summer including flatheads of 16, 27, and 31 pounds.
They have also landed numerous channel cats in the 2 to 9 pound range and placed third along with their friend Bryce Morgan in a local tournament.
