Three of Augusta's fall sports teams will get to see some live action this week in scrimmages.

The volleyball team will play two scrimmage games. The freshman team will play at 6 p.m. Wednesday. After that, the varsity and junior varsity teams will play at 7. Coach Rich Bishop will make his official debut with the team Saturday at the Winfield tournament for the Orioles' season opener.

The football team will play a scrimmage game Friday for Black and Orange Night starting at 7 p.m. The Augusta Middle School teams' scrimmage will precede the Orioles' game at 6.

After the scrimmage, the AHS Booster Club will host its annual watermelon feed, which will be free for everyone.

The AHS football team is also beginning its Gold Card fundraiser with a Blitz Night tonight. The Orioles will be selling cards with discounts or deals to various businesses in town.

The Orioles begin their season Aug. 31 at home against Circle.

Augusta's soccer team plays its annual alumni game Saturday evening at Hillier Stadium. There also will be a team scrimmage.
