Dorothy Mae Henry, 88, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 in Andover. Celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Andover United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Benton Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born Dec. 18, 1923 in Conway, Ark., the daughter of Lee Roy and Mary (Sowell) Ledrick. She attended schools in Mayflower, Ark., graduating from Mayflower High School, she also attended Draughon School of Business. She was united in marriage to Detroy Henry on March, 18, 1946 in Little Rock, Ark. After 54 years of marriage he passed away Nov. 12, 2000. Dorothy belongs to the Andover United Methodist Church also the United Methodist Woman, PTO; she was on the city council of Mayflower Arkansas, chairman of the Mayflower Cemetery and the Family Community Education. She was an avid singer and loved music; she was a fan of the Arkansas basketball team and the San Antonio Spurs. Dorothy’s hobbies included gardening, arts and crafts, oil painting, cooking and reading.
Survivors include: son, Charles Henry of El Dorado; daughter and husband, Beverly and John “Rocky” McWilliams of Benton; sister and husband, Virginia and Edward Coley of Dearborn, Mich.; granddaughters, Jennifer and husband Mike Primm of Andover and Heather and husband Brice Malloy of Wichita; and great-grandchildren, Avery Malloy, Jillian, John and Julia Primm.
