The Board of Education approved a contract agreement with the Andover Education Association at its Aug. 13 meeting.
Under the terms of the agreement, one half-day in-service will be extended to a full day. Additionally, all certified staff gain movement for experience and education, and all supplemental positions, which had been frozen for four years, gain movement for experience. The total package increases salaries by 2.26 percent.
"This was a collaborative process, and we are excited to have an agreement in place before school starts," Superintendent of Schools Mark A. Evans said. "The district, the Board and the community value our quality teachers and staff, and this agreement demonstrates our commitment to them."
"Both teams were dedicated to working together and negotiating a contract that recognizes the efforts of our outstanding teachers and strengthens the excellent Andover schools," AEA President Brett Randolph said. "We are glad to see that the employees with supplementals are getting properly placed on the schedule. They deserve it."
