Billie Orr, 81, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 11 at Golden Living Nursing Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1930 in El Dorado, the daughter of William Charles and Opal Pauline (Freeland) Mong. She graduated from El Dorado High School and WSU with a Bachelor of Education. Billie served as the regional director for SRS for a number of years. She enjoyed singing especially with the Sweet Adaline's; traveling; doing arts and crafts; reading; loved to sew; play the organ at Church; and after retirement, she and Charles traveled around the world.
On Aug. 28, 1949 she and Charles Orr were married in El Dorado. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Susan Orr and husband Ken Wood of Shawnee, Kan., Terri Orr and husband Doug Pierce, and Bill and Mary Orr, all of El Dorado; grandchildren, Kayci Bailey and husband Preston, Kelci Liggett, Aaron Busby, Tyler Orr and wife Brandi, and Landon Gray; great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kody Bailey, Kayla and Austin Liggett, Tristan and Madison Busby, and Lexi and Jace Orr; a brother-in-law and wife, Fred and Betty Orr of El Dorado; sister-in-law, Ada Helmer of Augusta; and step-brothers and their wives, Don and Billie Bigelow of Rogers, Ark., and Bruce and Carolyn Bigelow of Tupelo, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles.
