  • I don't know why people are complaining about Augusta's most popular event. If it moved into the fall, people couldn't come because of football games and the chance of rain canceling it would be a lot higher too. The car show is at the perfect time of year and one of the best things going on in our town.

    "Guns don't kill people; people do." We've been hearing that slogan from the NRA for years, and it's just as disingenuous now as it ever was. As for the statement - there's definitely flaws to it. The availability of a weapon for somebody who intends to kill somebody makes the crime more inevitable. No one needs an assault rifle.

    Why can Kingman Lake be drained, restocked and opened for fishing immediately and Augusta residents have to wait four years to fish? What are they doing right that we did wrong?
