Peggy L. Johnson, 69, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Visitation with the family present from 6 to 8 on Friday evening at Carlson Funeral Home.
Peggy was born on Feb. 14, 1943 in El Dorado, the daughter of Arthur “Bud” and Martha (Arp) Keplar. She graduated from Rosalia High School and had perfect attendance for all 12 years. Peggy worked as a clerk for LaForges Office Supply for over 20 years. She loved her kids and family; working with PTO; cooking and baking everything including baking wedding cakes, birthday cakes and whatever people needed.
On March 3, 1962, she was married to Raymond P. Johnson in Augusta and were married for 41 years at the time of his death on Nov. 22, 2003.
Those who survive include sons, Rusty Johnson and wife Kathy of Winfield and Ross Johnson and wife Kelsey of El Dorado; brothers, Raymond Keplar and wife Pat of Santa Fe, Mo., and Kermit Keplar and wife Debbie of El Dorado; a sister, Karen Klaussen and husband Charles of Augusta; two adopted daughters, Leashell Gish of El Dorado and Susan Hull Owasso of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 2003; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
